Agriculture is one of the key sectors in the Nigerian Economy for the transformation and sustenance of the Nigerian agriculture to a modern scientific and technology-driven sector, the training of appropriate manpower is imperative. Our objective is to produce graduate who are not just jobseekers but prospective entrepreneurs, as well as those who could contribute meaningfully to research and policy and to the growth of agriculture in the country. The faculty offers six courses which span for five academic year with a compulsory industrial training that would be done in the University Teaching and Research farm or an equivalent research farm approved by the school. The departments that make up the faculty include:
1. Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural Development
2. Animal Science and Fisheries
3. Crop Science and Biotechnology
4. Food Science and Technology
5. Nutrition and Dietetics
6. Soil Science
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To gain admission into any of the department been offered in this faculty, the candidate must obtain in not more than two sittings five SSCE or GCE O’ level Credit passes including English Language, Chemistry, Biology/ Agric. Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics or Geography. For direct entry requirements, holders of NCE or ND in any of the offered courses or related discipline with not less than merit level may be considered for direct admission into 200 level. Holders of HND with not less than merit pass will be admitted into 300 level provided such candidates have met the minimum UME requirements.
